Mac Installer Failed No Software Found
Jan 24, 2008 Question: Q: There is no software found to install I've had several goes at installing Leopard onto a new drive. The first time all appeared to go well, ahead of schedule, but froze at 7 minutes left for about 20 minutes (could have been longer, but I rebooted). If you don’t have a viable system available, you will have to borrow another Mac and download the installer there. Connect it to your Mac with an Ethernet or Thunderbolt cable and run the installer, being sure to select your MacBook’s internal drive. The Apple installer searches the /Library/Receipts directory for existing older packages of the same software that should be installed. The final solution to the problem was to completely delete all similar packages (in my case the packages for iWork, Pages and 'Keynote) from the Receipts folder.
